Twenty two local artists. Hundreds of handmade products. Inspiration, creativity and artistry. We’ve transformed the old Night & Day space into a warm, happy, engaging and interactive space that you have to see for yourself. We’re open until December 29th so get down here!
Gearing up for the 2010 season!
Every year we aim to make the Holiday Spirit Store better than it was the year before. This year, to make our lives easier and to include as many different artists as possible, we’ve created a formal application for the HSS. Check it out here. Contact info@holidayspiritstore.com with any questions. The application deadline is August 1st, 2010 so get ‘em in!
Thank You!
These are just some of the smiling faces you’ll see when you stop by!
All of us at the Holiday Spirit Store would like to extend a big THANK YOU to everyone who visited us this season. Thank you for all of your enthusiastic comments, and thank you for supporting local artists and artisans.
We will be around until December 29, so there’s still time to pick out a little something for yourself after all the gift-giving subsides.
Give the Gift of Ithaca!
Just a few days left to pick up a locally-made gift for the holidays! Come down to the Commons and see what’s new in the store every day.
Remember we are also open after Christmas, until December 29. After that, we vanish again until next year….
Upcycled Mobiles
Gallery Night Tomorrow!
Swing by the Holiday Spirit Store tomorrow for Gallery Night 5-8 pm, and meet Rob Costello and Alice Muhlback, the author and illustrator (respectively) of our new children’s book, Ely Crimpbottom and the Girl Who Fell From the Sky. Makes a great gift!
Local Lover Challenge

Not as subversive as it sounds.
We are one of the 70+ Local First Ithaca business taking part in this year’s promotion. Shop locally and get a chance to win great prizes.
Just come down to the store to get your card. Fill it with 5 stamps (no purchase necessary) and enter it in a sweepstakes drawing. It’s that easy.
Appearing on Gallery Night….
Come visit us next Friday, 4 December, 5-8 pm for Downtown Ithaca’s First Friday Gallery Night, where we will be unveiling a new children’s book by Rob Costello with illustrations by Alice Muhlback: Ely Crimpbottom and the Girl Who Fell From the Sky
From the back cover:
For a talented daydreamer like Ely Crimpbottom, living in the Town of Sensible is a real drag. Every one of Ely’s neighbors is serious, solemn, subdued, sour, surly, and so many other boring and unpleasant “s” words you’d really need your dictionary to keep up. There are no trees left in town because they’ve all been chopped down by the evil Avery Chopper to make footstools! Worse yet, nobody in town even celebrates the holidays!
Or at least it was that way until the night the little girl fell from the sky. Strange and wonderful things begin to happen when she arrives, and soon, the townsfolk of Sensible discover that it is the most sensible of all to celebrate the fruits of the holiday season -– joy, hope, spirit, and love!
Full Steam Ahead
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Starting tomorrow (Black Friday), we will have longer hours: 10 am to 7 pm, Monday through Saturday. On Sundays, our hours remain noon to 6 pm.
Also, next Friday, Dec. 4 is First Friday Gallery Night, 5-8 pm. So, we will be open a little later than usual. Plus, we will be releasing a new children’s book for the holiday season. More details to come later this week….
We are open!
Opening night was a great success! Lots of people came by, and they all seemed to enjoy themselves. Check out our Flickr album for pictures of the store in all its glory.
We will be open every day from now until Dec. 29, except Thanksgiving and Christmas. See here for hours.
